In addition to this power packed and high profile list of Gospel giants, BET’s Gospel production was hosted by Steve Harvey and the audience was thrilled with surprise guests stars including Oscar® Nominated Actress Viola Davis, Tamar Braxton, Tyrese and Grammy® Award Winner Anita Baker!

The show was taped in Los Angeles, California on March 16 at the Orpheum Theater and will air on BET Network April 7, 2013.  Many described this year’s production as the best show ever, one not to miss, most spirited, has so many great performances and many that were there commented, “I want to see the whole show over again!” Pastor Shirley Caesar came out shouting and singing, I Know He Will Make A Way.  Yolanda Adams backed up by the Celebration Choir fired up the house with a church favorite, When All God’s Children Get Together.  Gospel newcomer Anthony Brown & group therAPy sang their hot radio single, Testimony.  Tyrese joined Le’Andria Johnson in a moving duet delivered of Donnie Hathaway’s, A Song For You.  Now that’s not all, but you have to tune in on April 7 to hear the rest. This year, BET honored the legendary King of Gospel Music, Rev. James Cleveland, winner of 5 Grammy Awards, author of 400 songs, creator of 100 albums (16 of which went gold), and founder of the Gospel Music Workshop of America.  To honor Rev. Cleveland, BET brought together a show you cannot miss led by Kurt Carr with performances by members of the original Cleveland Singers, Joshua Rogers, Donnie McClurkin, Rance Allen, the Kurt Carr Singers and Dr. Bobby Jones!
