Donald Lawrence: “I’ve Been In Cancer Treatment”
While performing at a post game concert in Memphis, Tennessee for the Grizzlies, Donald Lawrence and his company of singers blessed his legion of supporters with a round of his soul-stirring songs. During the hour-long concert, Donald introduced the Memphis audience to some of his beloved singers like EMI recording artist Anita Wilson (Speechless)along with Memphis’ own Sheri Jones-Moffett who performed her heart touching Encourage Yourself.
As the concert was nearing an end, Donald asked if he could encourage the audience and began to minister a song entitled Not Making Sense, Making Faith…here are the lyrics.
Verse Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It lives beyond the senses, you can’t see it, you can’t feel it, you just have it. I’m in a season that requires GREAT faith. Fear and doubt are all around me. But I’m standing on what The Word says. Faith is the evidence of what I can’t see. And when people doubt the things that I do. When I do what God told me to… For the rest of my life I’m not making sense, I’m making faith.
Chorus Don’t know how I’m gonna get there. But I walk by faith Don’t know how I’m gonna live there. But the just shall live by faith Cant even see the purpose that’s waiting there. But I trust the author of my faith. And when people ask how I’m gonna do, When I do what God told me to… For the rest of my life I’m not making sense, I’m making faith.
Bridge By faith we proclaim (understand). By The Word the worlds were framed For that which is seen Hath not come from what appears in the scene So don’t try and convince when your path doesn’t make sense God is the author and finisher of your faith…Stay In Faith You may not know how you’re gonna get there But just walk by faith You may not know how you’re gonna live there But the just shall live by faith You can’t even see the purpose that’s waiting there But TRUST the author of your faith
Outro And when people doubt the things that you do When you do what God told you to… ( tell them this) For the rest of my life I’m not making sense, I’m making faith.
It was during this song that D. Lawrence told the audience that this was the first time in 3 months that he has seen or performed with his singers because he has been in Los Angeles going through Cancer Treatment. Lawrence admitted it had been a very trying time. He told the crowd that he disconnected from everything, headed out to LA for cancer treatment. He proudly stood on his faith in God and confessed that there is no sign of cancer in his body. The crowd went into an uproar praising God for his deliverance, faith and healing. The concert came to an triumphant ending with Lawrence & Company declaring all should “Get Back To Eden and Live on Top of the World.”
We here at Gospelnewsroom continue to keep Donald in our prayers, knowing that God has made another miracle out of His servant.
